TF Mini LiDAR Sensor LCD project from the web[age not working

I am trying to do the project that was on the website with the TF mini sensor and LCD screen (https://www.dfrobot.com/wiki/index.php/ ... U:_SEN0259), I got the LCD to power and uploaded all the codes but the LCD does not show any readings. When I upload the codes it shows "Done Uploading" but the LCD is not displaying anything. I have also tried a basic example test to see if the computer was communicating with the board with the Blink test and it worked.
