Motor encoder spacer too short

I got my Baron 4WD drive kit yesterday. I installed the two encoders on the back motors (I guess there only needs to be one encoder for each side???) Anyway, the spacers that are supposed to position the sensor that reads the wheel revolution (part number M2517) seem too short. If you use them, the sensor rubs very tightly against the wheel. Fortunately my daughter had some crazy straws (those twisty straws for drinking) that was the exact correct diameter. I just cut some spacers from that and it worked perfectly. I just thought you would like to know.

I'll try and post a pic tonight when I get home.

Wow, thanks. That's quite impressive. I am glad to know it worked. I love this quick and functional solutions, and I bet is a much more colorful robot now. I would love to see it! I've made my share or robots with scavenged parts and I love it. :P Can you post some pictures?
As for the question, I am not sure.. i'll probably get a better idea if you manage with the pictures
Best,
Jose
