Sensors for the hexapod kit

Hello everyone,

I am a robotic engineer in Switzerland and I currently want to build a hexapod to earn experience in the sector. I browsed many websites to find a kit which will suit to me, and the one on the top of my list is the DFrobot's one.

However, I am hesitating because of a little detail. The main thing I want to add to this robot, after learning to it how to walk with the walking algorithm in the wiki page, is to put sensors on the legs, which will permit me to learn information about the legs, like their position, if they are touching the ground, etc.. I searched on the store, but I did not see anything like that related to this kit.

That's why I wanted to ask if there are some sensors of this kind which are specific to this kit. If not, is it possible to use sensors from other industries ? (if you have some names to give me, I will be very grateful).

Romeo is compatible with Arduino, therefore sensors compatible with Arduino are compatible with Romeo. I don't know the specifics of those other sensors you are talking about, but should be fine.

thank you very much for your answer.

I just have a last question : does it also work with sensors from other companies than DFRobot, but which are compatible with Arduino ?

The legs have some drilling that you can attach any of DFRobot Arduino sensors. Depending on what kind of sensor you will have to work around the mechanics.

If you are using Arduino to control the Hexapod, browse the shop, there is a wide range of sensors.

Cheers^^
