FIT0421 3-Phase Brushless Motor - is this for real?!?

I've been looking at this motor and am intrigued by the integrated driver and frequency feedback capability. Am I correct in assuming the frequency feedback can be used similarly to an encoder in monitoring the actual rotational speed of the motor? If so, how does this work from a coding standpoint? It's rather frustrating to find such a unique and innovative device out there, and so little documentation to go with it!. Any additional info on this motor would be greatly appreciated!
