Vortex always turn left

When we make it forward, Vortex always turn left. My impression is that there is a motor that is not turning as fast as the other.

Do you think there is a way to correct that ?
2016-03-26 05:11:49 Yes, it usually works ok upside down, but the left wheel sometimes sticks. When on the ground, the left wheel doesn't seem to have enough drive power to steer to the right or keep it straight. We've recorded a video but it was too big to upload. We could email it to you if it helps? Thanks userHeadPic dominika.regentova
2016-03-26 01:08:00 Hey dominika.regentova,

So do you mean when you put it on the ground, it can only turn around controller by a phone(the left wheel got stuck), but once you overturn it so make the chassis facing to sky(like the pictuew shows), the "stop" wheel would run freely then by the phone app?

2016-03-25 13:11:55 Here is a photo of the left motor. It does turn the wheel when you hold the robot upside down, but it doesn't achieve any drive from that wheel on a surface. userHeadPic dominika.regentova
2016-03-25 00:49:25 hi dominika.regentova,

Can I have a picture about the white block holding the motor? It might be eroded by the screw glue(we have a batch of product having this bad glue...)

2016-03-25 00:00:51 Hi,
We've also have the same problem with the robot always turning left and have tried the method above but all the screws were fine and the problem still occurs. Please can we ask for some advice.

Thanks

Russ

2016-01-13 21:40:49 Hello Jason,

Could you take off the coverage and have a look inside about the motor? Same method as above to take off the chassis and the pcb.

2016-01-13 20:34:42 I have the same problem but after checking my motor screws they were tight. This does not seem to be the problem.

When I examine the wheels as they spin when the unit is upside down they are both able to spin but apparently one side is not spinning with enough power. One thing I did notice is that one of the wheels appears to be closer to the edge of the wheel cavity. See attached image. Perhaps this is the problem.

2016-01-09 00:20:19 How to Fix—— Step by Step
The tools you need is just a Phillips screwdriver, flat head also works.

NOTE: Please be careful in every step in case you broke some wires or components inside.

STEPS

1. Take off its head covering, and take out the batteries if there are.

2. Take off the chassis with a suited screwdriver in anticlockwise.

3. Unplug the cable of speaker carefully.

4. Check the screws which is to fasten the motor, in this picture, the screws are all fastened.

5. If some screws are loose which would cause Vortex cannot run straightly, like showing in the picture, then you can go on the steps to tighten them. Note: If the screw is loose just a little, like 2-3mm above the PCB, then you could simply tighten them with a screwdriver, if it is nearly out of the holes then please take out the pcb like following steps.

6. Take off the four screws which is to tighten the pcb.

7. Take off the two cables carefully.

8. Then please hold the white block which is to hold the motor, this is to protect the fragile connection pins as marked in the photo, and put the screw nut into the hole, then screw on the screws.

9. Now, you've finished the wheel calibration, please assemble all parts together, don't forget the 3 cables, two under the pcb, another for the speaker. Note: For the third cable, it is easier to insert it by left hand.

2016-01-06 22:43:07 I received a customer's return that his Vortex behved just like what you described, he said
We ordered four; one of them turns left better than right. It also drifts right when it should be moving forward.

My thought is voltage calibration to the servos at the wheels. What steps should I take to correct this?

After I opened its cover, I found its screw is already very loose like this, and that's why I could hear some sound when I shake it after I received it. After I fastened that two screws, it bacame good again. So is it possible the same reason for yours?

In summary:

Possible Reason

1. The Screws to fasten the motor connected with wheel got loose
2.The wheel got loose on the axis;

Suggestion

Find a screw driver to open its cover, and calibrate it.
