Another Low Power Question (Bluno Beetle)

Hi there,

i read that it is not possible to send the CC2540 BLE module to sleep/lowpower mode. (btw: is the firmware upgrade released, which implements that?)

But it should be possible to send the whole Bluno Beetle into lowpower mode.. isnt it? The sleepmodes for the ATMega328P described here should be available, right? http://www.gammon.com.au/forum/?id=11497
SLEEP_MODE_IDLE: 15 mA
SLEEP_MODE_ADC: 6.5 mA
SLEEP_MODE_PWR_SAVE: 1.62 mA
SLEEP_MODE_EXT_STANDBY: 1.62 mA
SLEEP_MODE_STANDBY : 0.84 mA
SLEEP_MODE_PWR_DOWN : 0.36 mA

Bluno Beetle has a ATMega328 (without P) but it should work anyways?
Sending the microcontroller to sleep should send the BLE device too sleep too, am I right?

Thanks in advance,
Gilbert

2017-01-25 10:24:51 Hi, I'm very interested in low power mode. Can you tell me when this feature will be available for beetle bluno? Thank you
Best regards

2016-08-06 04:59:01 Hi Wendy,

thanks for the quick reply.
As I am developing a commercial product it would be helpful to know at least a approximate timeframe of that release.

Will it be in 2017, 2018 or later? How and where will users be informed?

Thanks for your support,
Gilbert

2016-07-28 23:19:13 Hi Gilbert,

Sorry, I asked my colleage and he said we are planning the next version of the firmware, but this plan hasn't started. We will make a big iteration, so it still need some time.

Hope for your understanding.

Have a good time.

2016-07-12 20:14:40 Hi Gilbert,

Our next version firmware will support low power, but the specific time I dont know, I believe the time will not be too long.

Thanks for your support.

2016-07-12 06:48:30 Thanks for the answer.

What a pity, this makes the bluno beetle not a serious option for wearable devices :? .
When is the firmware feature planned?

Thanks in advance,
Gilbert

2016-07-11 23:25:43 Hi accounts,

Sorry, it is not possible indeed and our newest firmware dont support to send the CC2540 chip to low power mode.
The above link is available, but if you want to send the microcontroller to sleep, you need to send the BLE device to sleep too.
So you cant send Bluno Beetle to low power.
And Bluno Beetle has a ATmega328P, not a ATmega328 which is our mistake in our wiki that i have changed.
