Bluno Beetle won't accept sketches through USB

Hi there!

I recently made a little "prototyping board" for my Bluno Beetle (sadly I bought an ordinary beetle shield which does not accept Bluno Beetles).

I had it working for a while, uploaded a blink sketch to it, but now it refuses to connect via USB to my win7 PC. I cannot upload a sketch to it using a USB cable. I have another Bluno Beetle and upon inserting a USB cable into it it begins installing it's drivers and so on. This one does nothing.

It can be hooked up to 4xAAA and has it's connections brought out through some headers.

The LINK LED is not turned on, the only led that is turned on is the 'pwr' LED.

Reset and Boot buttons seem to work but do nothing.

Anyone any tips on how to proceed?

Kind regards,

2016-08-23 00:28:33 Hello,

Thanks for your swift reply.
I have a second bluno beetle which works perfectly. When I connect this bluno beetle via USB, drivers are installed automatically and I can select the COM to which it is connected.
My other Bluno Beetle, the one that doesn't connect, doesn't prompt the automatic driver installation process. Neither does it show op on any COM port. I Can select COM1 but this isn't the right COM port.

I tried first having my working Bluno Beetle recognised by my computer, so I have a COM port that says it has an arduino uno (in this case it being a Bluno Beetle) connected to it, then I unplug my working Bluno Beetle and plug in the one that refuses to connect.
Halas, this 'trick' doesn't work and I cannot upload my sketch to it.

I will try the abovementioned troubleshoot when I get home.

I'm starting to worry this Bluno Beetle might be dead.

regards,
Jori

2016-08-22 22:36:58 Hi Jori,

I am sorry to hear that.

For your first Bluno Beetle, there is a com port, right? Then you cant upload sketch again? If so, can you provide me a picture about the error mentioned in the Arduino IDE? For the second Bluno Beetle, is there a com port? If there is not a com port, maybe you need to update the driver or reintall it. Here is how:

1. Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
2. Expand one of the categories to find the name of your device, then right-click (or tap and hold) it, and select Update Driver Software.
3. Select browse my computer for driver software. Click next.
4. Browse for driver software on your computer. Choose the search path to E:\arduino-1.6.8\drivers (your Arduino IDE installation location), click next.
5. Always install the driver software
6. If there is "The best driver software for your device is all already intalled", proves Driver installation successfully.
If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver: Open Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) the name of the device, and select Uninstall. Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

Looking forward to your reply.
