Gravity: Analog pH Sensor/Meter Kit V2 Unable to calibrate

I just purchased the Gravity: Analog pH Sensor/Meter Kit V2.
When trying to calibrate,
- the pH 4 buffer gave me reading of about 2
- the pH 7 buffer gave me reading of about 5
Which causes 'buffer solution error' and I am stuck.
Please advise what to do to troubleshoot.

I realised that it did not work because I put both the pH and EC meter at the same container.
It is ok already now.
How to make it such that both can be placed at the same container? febrification
