DFR URM06 UART ultrasonic sensor

I tried to get the sensor urm06 Uart up and running for distance measuring.
First I just tried the sample code provided by dfrobot. But beside a timeout message I don’t get anything out of the serial monitor.
I checked the web and the wiki but couldn’t figure out where to put the hex code from the wiki to send something to the sensor. Any help is highly welcome as I am new and can’t find anything wich suits to this sensor. I would love to see a little sketch to show me how to get a distance measurement from this sensor.
I guess my problem is the uart communication.
I really hope anybody can help.
