ME007YS powering up every X-seconds does the sensor get dammaged?

For my project I need to use a transistor/mosfet to toggle power/control the VCC of my sensor.
So the sensor will be off for 3 seconds and than on for 3 seconds.
Does this dammage the sensor itself on the longrun?
When the sensor is powered you can hear a small tick sound (i think 10Hz because it samples every 100ms). But when sensor is powering up the frequency of the tick sound is much faster. So thats the reason I am wondering if it get dammages on the long run.
