PROBLEM WITH SOUND LEVEL METER?

I'm testing my new sound level meter using the wiring diagram and sample code on the website and an arduino uno. The serial monitor seems to output the first few lines of data as expected, but then suddenly starts showing random characters. The same thing happens if I restart the arduino.

Has anyone else run into this?
