Shining Dinosaur Egg: Ball Snapology
Origami is popular in the world, enthusiasts combine origami skillfully and create multiple patterns. Origami can not only make different graphs but house ornaments. Today, I would like to show you how to make a shining dinosaur egg with simple colorful cards and colorful LEDs. How amazing it is when art meets technology? Come to join us now!
How to make a shining dinosaur Egg
Let’s begin the Snapology origami tutorial with a bling bling finished work, see the light is changeable~ It’s so fantastic that my little sister hold her breath when she saw it at the first time! You can design the Snapology ball freely, just follow your own interests. It could be large or small

Totally free-style
Now it is the right time to go straight to the point, make the dinosaur egg.
To begin with, you need to prepare 3 colors A4 papers. Fold A4s into 16 equal parts Divide each paper to 16 parts Take two small papers, cross and fold. Then you will find here are papers similar to a spring What I want is structure modules made of pentagons and triangles. So I divide green and blue papers to 10 patterns and 6 patterns. To combine pentagons and triangles, a connection module needs been divided to 4 patterns. In general, a hexagon flower needs 6 six-patterns colorful papers and 6 four-patterns colorful papers. In modules connection, you need to fold every pattern to the same direction, then the structure module fold to triangle and pentagon. The two modules assembly is as below: Assembled 6 triangles and a hexagon flower comes into being. Finally, assemble ball base with a pentagon and 5 hexagon flowers.
I connected 5 hexagon flowers with a purple 4-patterns paper. The finished work The quantified 4 patterns, 6 patterns and 10 patterns small papers should keep the proportion 18:10:1 to make a Snapologyball. Of course, you don’t have to follow my work, you can combine the ball with other types, such as parallelogram, triangles....just imagine whatever you like.
The inner LEDs connection
Lights are essentially for a dinosaur egg who want to shining, here I used colorful LEDs and Boson modules.
Accessories
Boson power supply board ×1
Not Gate of Logic Gates module ×1
Ambient light sensor (ALS) ×1
Threshold module ×1
Colorful LEDs ×5
Note: Except LEDs, all accessories are belongs to Boson particle making sets and we use threshold module to convert analog signals into digital signals. Put serial 5 colorful LEDs into the dinosaur egg when it has been half finished, assembling and wiring, now we can check it. Base accessories Connection Diagram
Here is the finished work Welcome to our community to share your works.
