USB GPS not working with Raspberry Pi Shake and Boom

HI 

I brought DFrobot USB GPS Receiver with 2m Extension Cable to use with a Raspberry pi Shake and Boom i'm setting up. 

I have followed the setup instructions at the following link. https://wiki.dfrobot.com/USB_GPS_Receiver_SKU_TEL0137 

However when I try the last step I just get “Invalid GPS data” over and over until i kill the command.

Any help on what i could try would be most appreciated
