Need help getting started

i'm currently designing a model rocket and would need some help with the launching device.

I'm using Estes engines with basically start with an igniter wich is just a wire that turns red hot due to electricity going through it . The thing is i would like to be able to switch on like a baterry or something from a distance with my phone or whatever and then it would power an alligator clip wich would be connected to the igniter.

I believe using arduino would be the simplest option in order to achive that goal, but i have no idea of where to start because i have close to zero experience regarding arduino. If any of you guys have ideas to help me get started, it would help a lot, thanks !
