Quad Motor Driver [DRI0039] wont reverse

So I've set up the Quad Motor Driver and some motors, everything is powered fine, I am using the test code DFRobot provide [https://wiki.dfrobot.com/Quad_Motor_Driver_Shield_for_Arduino_SKU_DRI0039] , but it wont go backwards.

To be clear I am running 4 motors, a left and right side, and so two motors each are hooked up to M1 and two motors are hooked up to M2.

Anyone have any ideas what's going on here? I feel like this is a pretty basic configuration. It moves forward just fine, why not in reverse?

Could you please try one motor first? There is no library for this shield.

Another possibility is the motor, could you please drive the motor independently? See whether the function of the motor is fine or not.
