TEL0137 - GPS receiver data export

Hello, 

I am looking for a GPS receiver for Windows. For my purpose, I will write a program in C/C++ that requests GPS coordinates from receiver and returns the longitude/latitude values which I can then use for my other program functions.

Would the TEL0137 be compatible for this purpose? From the documentation it looks to work with Google Earth on Windows but can work with raw code in Linux ? I'm assuming there are also ways to establish a connection with it using c-code in windows.
