DFPlayer Mini

hi,

I'm using a DFPlayer Mini with a 4GB sd card with 1300 small mp3 files.
When I send the 0x12 command via serial line (MP3 tracks specified folder 0--9999), the sound is played immediately if the file is one of the first stored on the SD card, while it is played with more than 1 second delay if the file is one of the last stored
I need real-time playback because the module is used to generate sounds in pinballs and I always need a real-time response to follow the game.
I have tried several FAT32 formatted SD cards, but the problem persists.
I attach the YX5200-24SS manual which shows the commands that can be used with the chip mounted on the DFR0299
Do you have any suggestions?
thank you very much

Great player, but it's a little pricey for me

hi,

thank you for your reply.

Yes I set volume, EQ, etc only one time, in the initialization procedure

The file name is in the form: 0001.mp3 to 1398.mp3

The files are played with increasing delay, already noticeable starting from the 0100.mp3 file

I also tried the solution of dividing the files into multiple folders, all under root, like 01\001_001.mp3, 52\016_063.mp3, where 01 and 52 are the folders that contain the files 001_001.mp3 and 016_063.mp3, but the delay remains essentially the same.

I followed the instructions in the manual I attached to the first post to the letter

Thanks for further clarification

massimo

Make sure that your MP3 files have short and simple names. Avoid using special characters or long file names, as this can affect the file system's efficiency.
