Sound Sensor (DFR0034) in my project - how is this possible??

I would like to ask what you think about the fact that this sound sensor DFR0034 is expected to work between 3.3 and 5V...and in my project (I didn't notice it before) I give it 12V.
It seems to work quite well.
What do you think...do I definitely need to change it or might it not be a problem? (I don't have much space on my PCB anymore)
