control DFR0534 Voice Module from 5V Arduino - 1k for RX needed?
Hello DFRobot-Team,
i would like to now if it is save to connect the DFR0534 Voice Module to a 5V arduino system.
i have read at some points that it is needed to include a 1k Resistor in the Line:
from Arduino 5V SoftwareSerial TX Pin → 1K Resistor → DFR0534 RX Pin
to limit the current / Voltage going into the JQ8400 chip.
i did not find any shematics of the board - so i could look up if it is already on board…
looking forward to a reply from you :-)
sunny greetings

just probed the connections:
it seems that sadly there is no serial resistor on the board.
the connections are zero-ohm to the pins marked on the ic..
Stefan.Krügeri found
https://sparks.gogo.co.nz/assets/_site_/downloads/JQ8400_English.pdf
that states:
Power input DC 3.3 – 5.5V; best at 4.2V, IO port level at 3.3V
so it seems definitely i need some protection - or it is on the board already…
