Voice recognition module custom commands and gpio reprogramming

1) The  voice recognition module is able to learn custom voice commands. Will they remain in Memory after a power loss? I want to use this workaround to use Italian language.

2) the voice recognition module has port uart/i2c. is it possible to use the module standalone, to control ws2811 leds strip, by reprogramming those pins? is it there some example on pin reprogramming?
