Firebeetle M0 blinking red led

Hi,

 
I have picked up a fight with a firebeetle m0 dev board and I'm afraid it's winning.

 

So far I have

tried the example with the blinking built-in led tried to change the blinking to an external led on the breadboard interfaced the dfplayer through uart reverted to the built-in led blinking tried to interface a waveshare e-paper module through spi

 

At that point I encounter a problem: the arduino IDE does not see the COM port anymore. The red power led is blinking. 

 

I unplugged everything, turned off the computer.

 

Then I plugged back only the usb-c cable and tried to program the built-in led blinking example. Same problem: COM port invisible and red power led blinking.

 

The COM port reset procedure does not seem to help.

 

What do you think of all this?
