URM14 - Industrial Ultrasonic Distance Sensor with 1mm Accuracy ModBus Comms

Hi there,

 

I have tried to connect the URM14 - Industrial Ultrasonic Distance Sensor with 1mm Accuracy to different ModBus devices:

- WaveShare 4-Ch RS485 to RJ45 Ethernet Serial Server, 4 Channels RS485 Independent Operation- WaveShare Industrial Isolated USB To RS485/422 Converter- Sequent Microsystems Home Automation V4 8-Layer Stackable HAT for Raspberry Pi

Cannot get it to work with any.

Wire connections as follow:

Brown - 12VDC+

Black - 12VDC-

White - ModBus A

Blue - ModBus B

(I also tried to switch the A with B to no avail)

 

Slave address - Tried the 12 as per default on your wiki (https://wiki.dfrobot.com/URM14_RS485_Precision_Ultrasonic_Sensor_200KHz_SKU_SEN0358) and all the other ones between 0 and 13 in case there was something wrong there.

Baud Rate - Tried 19200 as per your wiki and also 9600.

Databits - 8 as per your wiki

Parity - None as per your wiki

Stopbits - 1 as per your wiki

 

Nothing seems to work and it timeouts everytime.
