RDK X3 Statement of Direction

Since I'm having nominal fun with the RDK X3, there is always an element of second guessing in my messed up brain. The RDK hardware is well-designed, except that settling for 4 GB RAM causes hiccups. I rely on PyCharm Community Edition (no remote development for me!) and it struggles on the RDK X3. But the ensuing scripts run remarkably well thanks to the GPU. And that remains my attraction for this board, with my limited robotics + deep learning exercises. KDevelop fortunately chugs along nicely.
Obviously, every product has a segmented appeal but with a 16GB RPi 5 (plus dual M.2) or Jetson Orin Nano available without busting the budget, I feel that DF Robot is handicapping itself. There are some great examples for the RDK X3, but the hardware team is always lagging behind. No complaints about OS since to LTS commitment is great for end-users, but why did DF Robot not offer something more than 4 GB RAM for this versatile board?
Regards.
