However, the sensor always gave me 0 m depth. The serial monitor shows 0 in signal voltage and current. I wonder if the part I recieved is faulty, either the probe or the current/voltage converter.

I have two and power the sensor with 24 volts.
They both work as they should. Try using a boost module to boost 12v to 24v.
XL6009 is a good choice.
Also, wait for 30 minutes after you immerse the sensor to allow the sensor to come to the same temperature as the water.
