can the sen0539 be hacked to tap into the blue led

It would be very useful to my project if the blue LED that shows the language recognition is awake, could be located peripherally.  The device could then be placed within the project box but the indication that the sensor is accepting commands could be placed on the face of the project box.

Has anyone hacked the board to tap into the contacts that control the blue LED?  It looks tricky so any experience or advice you have would be helpful.
