Hello, I’ve been tasked with purchasing an Odor Detector, specifically the ‘Fermion: MEMS Odor Smell Gas Detection Sensor (Breakout, 0.5-50ppm)’. However, I’m unable to determine the unit of measurement for this device. I’ve already consulted the project’s wiki and the SEN0571-Odo documentation. Is it designed to detect a mixture of different gases? Does it use ou/m³ as its unit of measurement? Or is it capable of distinguishing between various gases detected by the sensor and presenting the data in ppm?
This type of sensor does not return accurate data in PPM or other units, as it is described in our wiki as a qualitative rather than an accurate quantitative sensor.
This sensor will only respond to whether the target gas level is rising or falling. In the case of the Odor you purchased, the target gas is a combination of H2S, EtOH, acetone, and so on.

If you need accurate data in PPM, please use one of our other range of gas sensors.
