Gravity EC Meter (K=1) v2.0 draws more then 100mA of supply current

I have just bought DFR0300 EC Meter (K=1) v2.0 and unsuccessfully tried to power it up with Lab Power Supply set to 5V and 100mA current limit. The board draws all 100mA and the voltage falls to 1.2V. The wires are connected correctly, ground to - and 5V to + sign on connector. I do not detect short circuit between + and - lines.
Power Supply works OK.
It looks like board does not work. Please advice how to proceed.
