DFPlayer ADKey1 Play Mode - any info?

I've rigged a 200k resistor to ADKey1 via a push button however can not seem to affect the playing or playback of any of the songs.
I've got the "Loop All" to work, 51k resistor to ADKey1 so I'm pretty sure the obvious stuff (sound files, power, etc.) are all ok.
