analog infrared sensor SEN0219 blinking red

My recently bought co2 sensor was blinking red and stopped reading co2 values after having been plugged in for about 16 hours. I couldn't find any information what the red blinking light actually means. I'd like to use the sensor 24/7 - now I'm doubting its suitability for my simple indoor air quality measrurement system.

Does anybody have the same issue? What does the red blinking light mean?
