Arduino Wifi Shield

Hello,

We are in big trouble with the wifi shield.

Our hardware is an Arduino Uno and a Wifi shield from dfrobot http://www.dfrobot.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=wifi&product_id=198

We evidently follow thoroughly the tutorial http://www.dfrobot.com/community/index.php/2011/07/tutorial-dfrobot-wifi-shield-sku-tel0019/.

We are absolutly sure of the configuration we did, both on the Wifi shield and on the router. We were able to verify that the shield was connected to internet and to the router.

The serial test was correct, we did change the led state and got feedback.
But, in wireless mode, impossible to change the led state, and to get feedback. We were able to connect to the shield, via putty, telnet, or the wiznet wizard. Nevertheless, configuration is strictly the same as the tutorial.

Before thinking of another solution, we are imploring your genius to help us.

For the one who had the same problem and manage to get it work, what where the little trick that did the thing ?

What can we try more ?

Thank you very much for your attention.
2011-11-24 19:12:23 Hey,

I am a noob and have not even purchased my Arduino parts to start playing with yet........

Anyway have you confirmed your Led light actually works :) did not notice anything confirming this.

I understand its the most basic of things to check but i always dfrobot the basics :)

Have you tried to ping the IP address of the wifi shield?

2011-11-19 03:20:08 Unfortunately, we were using this soft, and the results were the same.

Thanks for you help.

Maybe some Wireshark data could help you to determine the problem ?

2011-11-18 18:26:55 I have attached a program called device terminal. Try using this program instead of putty.

I'm really not sure what the problem might be, if you can connect to the shield through the IP address.

2011-11-18 04:27:25 The settings are the one suggests in the tutorial, with the same port on putty and the shield, the same baudrate.

We know that we are connected to the shield, with putty, telnet or wiznet wizard. We just never got any feedback, or make the led on or off.

Could you please tell me what your settings are in Putty? Have you configured it like the tutorial suggests?

What is the IP address of your wifishield? Does the baud rate in the wifi shield software match the baudrate in the arduino sketch?

Are you using the correct port?

2011-11-17 10:28:50 Hello,

Here is some more informations on our hardware that might give you a chance to identity the problem.

The wifi shield is plugged on an Arduino UNO:

The boards are powered by an universal power adaptor:

The firmware of the WIZnet wifi module is 1.2.3.

We tried many times to follow thoroughly the tutorial.

We configure the module by accessing the module page on 192.168.1.254. We were able to see that the wifi shield is connected to the router by looking up in the router config. We were able to upload the tutorial code and to make it work in the serial monitor.

We uploaded the code in this configuration (and tried it in the serial monitor):

But in this configuration (wifi)
we never succeed to change the led state in wifi with putty, telnet or the wiznet wizard. We never got feedback from the wifi shield neither.

Regards.

2011-11-15 02:23:54 Hello,

Thanks for the answer.

The code is no more than the sample code in the tutorial (turning the led ON or OFF by sending '1' or '0').

Wireless mode just means wifi, that the jumpers on the board are setted for wifi. The tutorial code works in usb, but not in wifi.

2011-11-14 17:54:33 Hi,

Could you share the code you are trying to implement? Maybe I can try it here and try to replicate your problem.

Could you clarify what you mean by "wireless mode"? Maybe I'm not understanding.
