Beetle BLE computer connection

I've been having difficulty connecting the bluno beetle to my macbook, I noticed a comment in a thread suggesting that the BLE can't send information over bluetooth serial communication?

Is this the case, have I been wasting my time trying?

2018-05-31 19:20:24 Bluno's Bluetooth can't send information to PC, the protocol not support this. you can only use an app which support Bluno can do that. robert.chen
