DFRobot wifi shield v2.1 not connecting to wifi

Hi,

I have a wifi shield attached to my arduino mega.

I am using WIZsmartScript, and the tutorial written by Barry on the 11-10-2011

I enter in all the information correctly I think, have been working on it for a few days so plenty of time to double check.

So during the wizard stage, it finds my network, and I enter the password.

The lights come on and it says it is connected. When I try and ping it I get destination unreachable. It also does not appear in the ARP table of the router.

Clearly something is going on here, the wifi module thinks it is connected but it is not.

Any ideas on how to proceed would be really appreciated.

Cheers, Rhys

I'm not sure what your setup is, or what steps you have taken to trouble shoot your shield, so I can't tell you whether its faulty or not.

Have you made sure that the shield is on the same IP range as your router? Could you tell me a little more about your situation?

I used AT commands before using the tool and had the same result, it appeared to be connected (lights came on the shield) but I could not ping.

Is there any reason it would look like it was connected but not be connected? Is it possible I have a faulty shield?

Have you tried to configure the Wifi Shield through with AT commands? There is a tutorial for that as well. Sometimes its better to configure through AT Commands...
Let me know if you get it working
