ramps with arduino

i have ramps 1.4 with marlin configured with arduino mega 2560 attached to it with only 2 stepper motors.i am using 12 v external dc source.my supply is on right now,can i insert my usb of arduino to computer when this external power is also on condition?from where the stepper motor will draw the current?will this burn my arduino?
