Sound Sensor - low sensitivity

Hi all,
I bought a DFRobot sound sensor and I have notived that the sensitivity of the sensor is quite low. Just if there are loud sounds very close to the sensor I get a value in the monitor. I have found some more posts in forums which confirms my problems, however, I didn't know that before buying.
Does anyone know how to improve the sensitivity of this sensor?

2012-05-21 20:27:50 Hi kai!
I've being looking forward to do some testing with this sensor for a while now. I have briefly done something with it, and if you go few meters far from it on a low noise room, and you clap your hands, you will notice it just works. I'm guessing that spikes are a lot easier to get on the program. Anyway, make sure its not hard-mounted to something, no tape or glue or something else :)
