Digital Servo Shield for Arduino (DRI0027) API

I would like to extend the ServoCds55 Arduino library used by the above servo shield so it supports a read status operation for the AX-12 servos.
I looked at the ServoCds55.cpp file but it isn't using the standard AX-12 command set (the ones that start with 0xFF). Is there any doco on the command set it is using?

The slave code its on the product description page since today, and it's using AX-12 standard command, it might help for reference.
