WiFi Bee V1.0 wiki page tutorial not working

I started to follow "Get started with the Wifi Bee" tutorial in Wifi bee v1.0 wiki page tutorial in Wifi bee v1.0 wiki page. I am using Xbee USB adapter v2.0,Wifi Bee-RN-XV,mini USB cable as listed in Tools needed. When i conneted the Xbee USB adapter v2 to my computer via mini USB cable Wifi bee didn't light up (but USB adapter did light up). Then i followed all the steps till number 4, which is " Send AT command $$$ to the wifi Bee and it will reply "CMD" to indicate that it enter the command mode properly". When i sent command, it didn't reply anything. I typed other commands like show net and scan, it didn't reply either.

When i tried Arduino Server example in the wiki page, Wifi bee lighted up. But it gave me some strange ip address with port 200, and when i entered that ip address to my browser address, browser couldn't find the page.

So my question is does Xbee Usb adapter need some extra power sources? Or it just doesn't fit with Wifi Bee? I don't think the problem is with usb cable, 'cause my computer found the device.

Well first of all - I am not sure I done this properly - as it should have been done. So if You have an issue with Your unit and want an other unit.
Then maybe - Don't try this procedure..
Take a look in the Data-sheet which can be found on the wiki page .
In it You will find an illustration of all the pins on the WiFi chip . Included GP IO9
this Pin actually goes to the xbee-sockets pin 8 ! this is also illustrated in the data-sheet.
You should have 3.3 volt on pin 1 of the xbee-socket. Ground on pin 10.
Connect a wire to the 3.3 volt source - either from the xbee-socket - or from an other 3,3 volt regulated source.
with the module in the socket - use Your 3.3 volt connected wire to tap or poke to xbee-socket pin 8 soldered pad on the module.
Do it with 1 tap per second 5 or 7 times..
Take the power of the board and on again so that it reboot.
This was what I did - it didn't destroy my unit - but made me able to talk to it and configure it for my needs.

2016-01-09 05:48:43 Hi, excuse me but I don't understand this step: "I Tapped GPIO9 5 times with 3.3v". Can you explain this operation?
Thanks!

2016-01-09 05:10:38 First thank You Piero78 for guiding me here.
I think Your problem sounds like a faulty wi-fly..
I Tapped GPIO9 5 times with 3.3v and finally I was able to get response from the unit :-)
All data in its memory was only half.. like Ip adresse containing only 192.16 and so on .
But I got the Server up and running now and I happy to now that all my hardware works like its supposed to :-)

2016-01-08 12:32:51 Have you a solution? Is there a substitution plan in this case? userHeadPic Piero78
2016-01-08 04:02:53 This is the situation.

Components:

Wifi module: Wifi Bee-RN-XV

Wifi adapter: XBee USB Adapter V2

Now, I've tried to:

- Connect the wifi module to wifi adapter and the adapter to the PC, the adapter was recognized such an Arduino UNO, ok, but the module doesn't respond, no leds lights, no sign of life, nothing!

- Connect the wifi module to an Arduino MEGA 2560 with expansion board (XBee socket), the module doesn't respond, no leds lights, no sign of life, nothing!

- Connect the wifi module to a Romeo V2 (XBee socket), the module doesn't respond, no leds lights, no sign of life, nothing!

- Insert the wifi module to wifi adapter like your image, the module doesn't respond, no leds lights, no sign of life, nothing!

In this conditions I can't try the Arduino server mode.

I think the problem is the wifi module.

2016-01-07 08:56:21 Hi, I've the same problem. I've tried to change USB cable, computer and OS (Win7 and Win10). Nothing, the adapter light is red, the wifi module don't have any light. How can I resolve the problem? userHeadPic Piero78
2014-03-10 22:09:49 Welcome Zerde,

This is a rather odd behaviour, could you please elaborate?
Can you send a Wiring and hardware Picture?
The exact code you are using
The operating system and IDE version,  power supply used, and if possible try with a different USB cable.
