The advertisement of this device says that it has a long life (up to 1 year) and can be used for online monitoring. The wiki page says that in order to ensure the accuracy of the pH probe, you need to use the standard solution to calibrate it regularly. Generally, the period is about half a year. Does this mean that the pH sensor can be submersed in water for up to one year without maintenance and only need calibration twice? Or does it mean that it can only be relied on for one year and then it needs to be replaced? I guess some reiteration on the lifespan/calibration time frame would be helpful. Thank you for your time.
2018-12-24 13:50:08 The life time means if not in some extreme environment, like the water is too dirty or with too high/low pH, the sensor could be used nearly one year (or even longer), the sensor could keep in use in water, and to make it accurately measure the pH, it still need to calibrate in half an year, the calibration frequency is not related to the life span, and the one year is an average, if the water quality is good, the life time would be longer. userHeadPic robert.chen
