Separating SEN0219 sensor from its board

Hi,

I seek to monitor CO2 level in a cave. Not for health concerns but to know the fluctuation of acidic activity on limestone. Being in a cave with almost 100% humidity, I'd like this CO2 sensor to be physically separate from its electronic module. That way, I could enclose the module within a waterproof box (along with an Arduino board) and only leave the sensor outside. Is this an option?
