FireBeetleESP8266 (V2.0) With 24x8 LED Matrix?

Hello everyone, I really need this to work for a school project and I need some help.  As I was following the directions to make this project (https://www.instructables.com/Wi-Fi-Smart-Scale-with-ESP8266-Arduino-IDE-Adafrui/), I have a 24x8 FireBeetle LED Matrix (V2.0) soldered to my Firebeetle ESP 8266 (V2.0).  I got the “scrolling” example to successfully upload on Arduino, but the LED display just won't light up.  Can someone tell me correct wiring and pin assignments in the code so I can make it work??  Thank you so much!!!  If you need to understand more information or want pictures or any kind an easier way to contact me is at [email protected].  Again, I would really appreciate it.
