DFR0231-H poor signal, very very short range

Hi

I have evaluated the DFR0231-H for a project, but I get extreamly short range, it is hard to read any tags at all.

Tested a few different tags/RFID cards, and I have to get the position exact to the mm, and very close to the reader.

I also tested two different DFR0231 PCB's

Is there some known problems, it seems like the RF tuning is poor on the boards I have received.

However, active tags, (Google pixel 7 in this case) works as expected. Approx 10mm range, and not particulairly sensitive to position in X/Y direction.

I am getting more like a 1mm detection distance with passive NFC tags, and in all X/Y/Z directions. It seems to be something weird going on.I have tried with some various applications, including nfcpy.

The Maximum Communication Distance: ≥10mm, depend on the size of the NFC card/tag

I think for a higher range you'd better choose from other readers.
