DFR0550 Touchscreen Issues

I've been attempting to setup this V1 display with a raspberry pi 3b+ and I can't seem to get the touchscreen to work.  The display works fine, but I can't seem find a way to calibrate the touch points.  This display doesn't even respond when I have a calibration program up and running.   Is there any way to get this touchscreen to work?  I need it to run Klipperscreen for my 3d printer.
