SHT20 soil moisture reading issue

And am trying to use it for measuring soil moisture. I have tried the calibration using wet and dry soil but whenever I place the unit in soil the reading slowly creeps up to 100% even in the dry soil. I have a couple of other different types of soil moisture sensor and they are working OK.
What am I doing wrong?
