You Reply: Hi:
The product page for the Micro DC Geared Motor ( https://www.dfrobot.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=47_110&product_id=100 ) has been changed to read:
Max. Output Torque: 0.8 kgf.cm
Max. Stall Current: 2.8 A
I'm planing on building a 4WD Rover electrically similar to your Pirate-4WD Mobile Platform and control it with a Romeo v2. The product page for the Pirate-4WD Mobile Platform ( https://www.dfrobot.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=97 ) mentions that it contains 4 Units of Micro DC Geared Motor (FIT0016) and that the Motor Specifications include:
? Stall current(3V):260mA
? Stall current(6V):470mA
? Torgue (3V): 1.2Kgcm
? Torque (6V): 1.92Kgcm
The Romeo v2 Controller's specs indicates "Motor driver Continuous Output Current:2A" and "Two way Motor Driver with 2A maximum current". This all seems conflicting specs to me.
My question is fairly simple. If I plug 2 units of Micro DC Geared Motor (FIT0016) in each of the channel of the Romeo v2 Controller just like with the Pirate-4WD Mobile Platform, how much current will flow through each channel of the controller in a stall condition at 6V? 2*0.470=0.94A per channel as indicated in the Pirate product page or 2*2.8=5.6A per channel as suggested in the FIT0016 Motor product page?
If it draws 5.6A per channel, shouldn't the Romeo controller burst up in flames? Assuming that your products are properly designed, the Stall current(6V) for the Micro DC Geared Motor (FIT0016) is most likely 470mA and not 2.8A which would be a good fit for the Romeo v2's 2A Peak Output Current per channel for the L298 in DC Operation.
Am I right in my assumption? I'm no expert in electronics so your confirmation would be much appreciated so I can proceed with my order. If so, the wiki was indeed correct and the product page for the Micro DC Geared Motor ( https://www.dfrobot.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=47_110&product_id=100 ) is to be changed back to what it was, i.e.:
? Gear Ratio 1:120
? No-load speed(3V):100RPM
? No-load speed(6V):200RPM
? No-load current(3V):60mA
? No-load current(6V):71mA
? Stall current(3V):260mA
? Stall current(6V):470mA
? Torgue (3V): 1.2Kgcm
? Torque (6V): 1.92Kgcm
? Size: 55mm x 48.3mm x 23mm
? Weight:45g
Thanks
