Arduino watchdog?

Hey all, so looking to use the onboard Arduino on a LP 3 Delta to reboot the host OS if it's not responding (e.g. stuck Windows update).
My thought is that I could open up a serial port connection between the host OS and the Arduino and have something on the host OS side constantly send "serial pings" and if the Arduino doesn't receive one in # minutes then issue a reset.
I believe there should be the possibility to jump a pin from the Arduino to to the "reset" pins. Anyone have experience doing something like this and can point me in the right direction?
Hi
The watchdog function on LattePanda 3 Delta 864 - The Fastest Pocket-sized Windows/Linux Single Board Computer(SKU:DFR0981) is still under development. We will provide this function officially in the future. Please look forward to this new feature.
