Instant failure of DFR0205 DC-DC Power Module

Hi have tried to use a DFR0205 Power Module to power an Arduino Nano running 3 Servos (2x9g servos stall current 0.75A stall current, 1x MG996R 2.5A stall current)  and a wireless module all powwred using the adjustable output set a 6v. I also had a a 12DC motor connected to the OVout and GND rated at 0.5A - but assuming this just loops through.

This setup has been running fine from a Lab style DC power supply - but when i tried to power it using a 1300Mah 11.1V 3S LiPo battery i have blow my Power Module instantly when i turned on using a switch. Can anyone shed any light of what i may be doing wrong as i am reluctant to try angain with a spare unit as it could get expensive!

 Many thanks,

C

I just noticed that the Inductor L1 is rated at 2.8A. Any higher than 2.8A will saturate the Inductor and not regulated also the 48mOhm will need to be considered as it would droop 400mV at the rated 8A.

I believe this design need to be either corrected or the spec had to change just based on the design. I have prematurely ordered some board so I have not tested them yet.

Now it has occured to me that maybe the module cant handle the inrush when the battery is connected via the switch? Maybe i am better to steer clear of the LiPo battery route…….
